I was fond of this novel. Hannah, the main character struck me as overly needy and co-dependent when she was not offending her friends and sister. I was also somewhat annoyed at the letter at the end. It was overly long and weirdly confessional.
Cute novel. Made me really want cake. Listened to this on the long drive to visit my Mom. from Amazon blurb: Ruth, with a teenage daughter, a son in college, and her mother living with the family, finds her life complicated by her husband’s sudden unemployment and news that her long-divorced father has been injured […]
Creepy short stories just right for Halloween. A bit childish, but fun nonetheless.
Fun mystery. Would probably be even better if the reader was into needle craft. From Amazon blurb: This Halloween, Betsy Devonshire, owner of the Crewel World needlework shop and part-time sleuth, is haunted by murder. After one too many pints, a local blames bar owner and Wicca practitioner Leona Cunningham for a series of “accidents” […]
From back of book blurb. Laurel Gray Hawthorne hasn’t seen a ghost in the thirteen years she and her husband have lived in their beautiful gated community. Then, in the dog days of a Florida August, she wakes to find Molly, her daughter’s best friend, standing by her bed, who then leads her to her […]
Great collection of supernatural short stories. My Halloween kick brought me to this one. There is a Sookie story, one of a journalist being offered something amazing, ghosts on the dunes of NJ, and other great reads. They vary in tone from fun and different to downright creepy. I liked it for what it is, […]
Interesting mystery of a family dead by poisoning and the 2 daughters that survived. Twist at the end changes the view of the whole book.
Cute novel of life in a small town in the Northwest. A couple on vacation from Virgina see a near demolished monastery and decide to buy and repair it to use it as an inn. The locals are less then thrilled with this and reactions vary from outright hostile to merely avoiding the Eastern couple. […]
